Gorillas

Rwanda Tour (15 Days Programme)

Day 1: Transfer to Hotel; Briefing by guide and General Orientation about the trip.

Day 2: Start historical-minded exploration of Kigali with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times i.e. Kigali Solaire, Stade regionale, Kigali Genocide memorial site, Kandt Museum, Belgian camp etc. Transfer to Bugesera in the afternoon to visit the reconciliation village,
Nyamata and Ntarama genocide churches. Overnight: – Kigali.

Day 3: Transfer to Kirehe; visit Imigongo and practice ancient artisanry in the region, watch the waterfalls in Rusumo (Border between
Tanzania and Rwanda). Head to Akagera
National Park in the Afternoon. Overnight: – Akagera.

Day 4: Complete – Game drive in Akagera National Park and birding. Overnight: Akagera National Park.

Day 5: Half – Game drive plus boat ride on lake Ihema to see crodiles, schools of hippos and over 50 species of water birds. Transfer to Kigali in the afternoon. Overnight: – Kigali.

Day 6: Transfer to Ruhengeri: – For ethno botany tours. Afternoon; en-route to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo visit brick making sites and bee hive locations. Overnight; – Ruhengeri town.

Day 7:  Early morning – Gorilla Trekking and enjoy the evening with traditional dancers at Kinigi Cultural Village. Overnight: – Ruhengeri town.

Day 8: Banana and Sorghum beer production experiences. Transfer to Gisenyi on the shores of lake Kivu to relax in the afternoon. Swimming in lake Kivu or in a swimming pool is optional but consider the current advice of guide. Overnight: – Gisenyi.

Day 9: Tour Gisenyi town. Transfer by boat to Kibuye, En-route visit Amahoro island. Dinner at the island. Overnight: – Kibuye.

Day 10: Transfer to Cyangugu – Kamembe town by boat; relax at the lakeside. Overnight: – Nyungwe/Kamembe.

Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park and visit tea plantations in the afternoon. Overnight: – Nyungwe Forest guest house.

Day 12: Visit the waterfalls or Kamiranzovu swamps; view other species of primates e.g. the black and white colobus monkeys, mountain monkeys etc. Transfer to Butare in the afternoon. Overnight: – Butare town.

Day 13:  Visit to the National University and the National Museum, introduction to Rwanda’s kingdoms, discovery of colonial architecture, enjoy traditional dancers from the museum or the national university.

Day 14: History-minded exploration of Nyanza – visit the King’s palace and traditional home where you will cook and share lunch with the family. En-route visit the Basilica of Kabgayi and back to Kigali. Overnight: – Kigali.

Day 15:  Souvenir shopping in local handcraft markets and transfer to
the airport.

 

 

Rwanda Tour (9 days programme)

 

 Day 1: ARRIVAL AT KIGALI AIRPORT

On arrival we make final time and tour arrangement, after Departing from Kigali  we Check in the hotel and refresh before we can start the tour programe the next day

Day 2:  NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK:

On the way to Nyungwe National Park we start our tour on the way. We start to visit some  historical sites on the main road like Kamegeri’s rock etc. for a late afternoon drive at the tea plantations to see some pri-mates. Overnight in  Guest House.  Early breakfast (6:00am); then drive to the chimp trekking point. After trekking, drive to Rusizi – check in and have lunch at the hotel. Some time to relax after trekking chimps.

Day 3: TRANSFER KIBUYE:

Napoleon’s hut and Amahoro “Peace” Islands – Enjoy fried Kivu fish and potatoes on the island plus some cold drinks of your choice. Swimming is optional to any interested member/guest. Overnight at Bethane Hotel.

 

 Day 4: MUSANZE FORMER MUSANZE DISTRICT:

Transfer to Musanze, visit the twin lakes. Overnight at recommended hotel..

 Day 5: VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK:

Early breakfast (5:am); – start gorilla trekking procedures at 6:30am at the park headquarters. After gorilla trekking, refresh and drive to Kinigi cultural village to enjoy the Batwa dance. Overnight at  hotel or lodge.

Day 6 AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK:

This one of the most exciting tour adventure one must not miss in  Rwanda; Early breakfast (5:am); we start the transfer to Akagera to enjoy site viewing to Akagers River, wildlife: Hippos, Giraffe Masai, Birds, Elephants etc.

Day 7:  TRANSFER TO GISENYI!

 COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Farming, Weaving, Lifestyle, Fishing  Food products in Rwanda and they are used in different ways i.e. for food, local beer/drinks and very important in the cultural practices most  especially during our traditional weddings , ceremonies, settling of disputes between community members, bonding relationship between different families etc. Transfer to Gisenyi – check in the hotel. Drive around Gisenyi town as we head to Rubona fishing village to experience the lifestyle of fishermen and also watch the hot springs. Swimming is optional in the lake. Overnight at  Hotel.

  Day 8: FAREWELL – KIGALI:

Transfer to Kigali -do shopping. Transfer to the airport and depart Rwanda END OF THE RWANDA TOUR.
